Many general dentists place braces. Fewer than 5% of orthodontists in India are Board-Certified Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics. Board Certification is not a degree, it is an independent examination that orthodontists take after their Master's. It tests case planning, complex biomechanics, treatment efficiency, and the long-term stability of results.

Clinically they work the same way. Ceramic brackets are tooth-coloured so they are far less noticeable, which matters to most working adults. Metal is more affordable and slightly more robust. Dr. Chirag will recommend based on your case and what matters to you.
Fitting the braces is not painful. There is soreness for the first 3 to 5 days as the teeth begin moving, and mild tenderness for a day or two after each adjustment visit. Most patients manage without painkillers after the first week.
No. Orthodontics works at any age as long as the gums and bone are healthy. A significant share of our braces patients are adults in their 30s and 40s, many of whom never got treatment as children or had teeth shift after earlier treatment.
Not always. Extraction is only recommended when there is genuinely not enough space in the jaw to align the teeth properly. A Board-Certified orthodontist plans this carefully rather than defaulting to extraction. You will be told clearly at your consultation, with the reason explained.
Yes, and this is common. Teeth shift over the years, especially if retainers were stopped. Repeat treatment is usually shorter and simpler than the original, since the underlying correction has already been done once.
